Filmed in the United Kingdom… My Bare Lady was probably filmed at around the same time that Dr. Strangelove was filmed (perhaps after)… It’s fun to imagine Weegee yo-yoing between the sets of Dr. Strangelove and My Bare Lady…
-Judge: “This is the first time I’ve ever judged a beauty contest.”
-Weegee: “Oh, don’t worry about it. Men are always judging women anyway. So, this should be right up your alley…”

Weegee steals the show! Weegee (briefly) mentioned on WNYC…
Weegee gets a slightly amusing mention (at 12:06) in today’s Leonard Lopate show…
A segment of the show was about the amazing film “Ordinary Miracles.” (Our rating: 4.5 Speed Graphics.)
Perhaps like the film, the highlight of today’s LL show, and the character who stole the show, got the most laughs, etc., was… “a very colorful character…”
Mr. Lopate: “One of the most interesting characters in the film… Arthur Fellig, known as Weegee… photographed crime scenes with a sense of aesthetics… a very colorful character…”

For most of us happy-go-lucky heterosexuals, a pretty girl is just a pretty girl (no complainers, we!) But, for that, photographer WEEGEE, a pretty girl is just a starter, a piece of unmolded clay, an empty canvas, so to speak. It is only when he finds a pretty girl that his diabolical work begins. By a mysterious process that he learned in the mysterious orient (or so he says, because we think he listened to too many Shadow radio programs when he was a child) he places a trance on the pretty girl and after the inevitable transmutation, he slyly sets up his camera and ho, ho, ho, away he goes.
