A Brooklyn Girl, Lena Horne, Comes Home

Yesterday was officially Lena Horne Homecoming Day in Brooklyn, and the crowds turned out to cheer the home town girl who made good as a singer and film star. At Fulton and Nostrand Ave., near where she was born, the throngs – including some enthusiastic autograph seekers – blocked off auto and trolley traffic.

Bill (Bojangles) Robinson was on hand to entertain the crowd…

Miss Horne gets an orchid corsage… A 300-foot scroll of signatures from Brooklynites was presented to the home-coming star.
