Two guns and the prostrate form of Louis Riggione tell the story. Released from prison two months ago, Riggione was enjoying his freedom by an early morning walk with his brother, Joseph, when underworld bullets mowed him down.

A Brooklyn Girl, Lena Horne, Comes Home

Yesterday was officially Lena Horne Homecoming Day in Brooklyn, and the crowds turned out to cheer the home town girl who made good as a singer and film star. At Fulton and Nostrand Ave., near where she was born, the throngs – including some enthusiastic autograph seekers – blocked off auto and trolley traffic.

Bill (Bojangles) Robinson was on hand to entertain the crowd…

Miss Horne gets an orchid corsage… A 300-foot scroll of signatures from Brooklynites was presented to the home-coming star.
